Past roles include:
Senior Lecturer - lecturing in Art Psychotherapy.
Founded Art Psychotherapy MSc level qualifying training in Northern Ireland. Designing the MSc programme from the mid/late 1990s, I led its initial CPSM / HPC approval and University validation and subsequent HCPC approvals and re-validations. I led the programme from its establishment in 2002 in Queen's University, later in the BHSCT, and then in another University until I retired as a Senior Lecturer & Programme Leader of the MSc Art Psychotherapy in Autumn 2019. Since then the training has changed and been led in a different direction.
A past Deputy Chair of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), having also served as a Trustee for nine years.
Lecturer in Education, QUB, teaching education, special needs, art therapy, counselling.
Member of the Executive Committee of the BACP's Children, Young People and Family Division.
Member of the steering group of the BACP's Children and Young People Practice Research Network.
Chair of the Allied Health Professions Research Forum for Northern Ireland.

Member of an expert group guiding tender specification for Independent Counselling Service for Schools – Department of Education NI
Member of the central Advisory Committee of the Allied Health Professions (ACAHP) to the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety Northern Ireland.
Contracted as a member of the Arts Therapies Benchmark Group (of the Health Professions Council working with The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education) which created the Arts therapy. Benchmark statement: Health care programmes (2004).
Contracted as a member of the Arts Therapies Working Group (of the Health Professions Council working with The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education) which created the Standards of Proficiency - Arts Therapists (2003).
